This privacy policy governs the information collection and use practices of MBS Direct, LLC (MBS) websites, including: mbsDirect.net, onlinebuyback.mbsbooks.com, STUDYtactics.com, and Digitaltextbooks.com. The policy below explains how MBS collects and uses your information, and when we share that information with third parties. By providing information to us, you agree with the terms and conditions of this privacy policy.

Definitions
1. We, our, and us means MBS Direct, LLC (MBS) and the websites through which it conducts business.
2. You and your means any individual who visits any of the following websites: mbsDirect.net, onlinebuyback.mbsbooks.com, STUDYtactics.com, and Digitaltextbooks.com, and submits Personal Information.
3. Personal Information means information about you that we collect. This may include your name, mailing address, city, state, zip code, email address, orders, order status, and payment amount. Personal information does not include aggregate information about our customers in which your identity can not be discerned.
4. Subcontractor means a third party that is not owned or controlled by MBS, but that has been retained to provide certain services on our behalf. Subcontractors do not have the right to use the Personal Information that we collect beyond what is necessary to assist us. Subcontractors are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of the Personal Information that we collect and are restricted from using such information in any way not expressly authorized by MBS.

Collection of Information
1. Our Purpose for Collecting Information. We collect Personal Information from you, and about you, to provide you with products and information that you request, and to enhance your online experience.

In such situations, the educational institution may provide MBS with personal information about you, including your student email address, and ask that we send you news and information about our company, our products, or our services.
3. Collection of Information from Children. We do not seek information from children. If you are under 13, you should not provide us with any information without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
MBS’s Use of Personal Information
If you provide your Personal Information to us, we may use that information to send you news and information about our company, our products, or our services, that we determine, in our sole judgment, may be of interest to you. In some instances, you may receive information directly from the publisher of the products you purchase from us. This may include updates, corrections or other information related to those materials.
Your Ability to Opt-Out from Receiving Materials from MBS
At any time you may choose to opt-out from receiving materials from us. You can opt-out of receiving materials by clicking on an "opt-out" link provided at the bottom of an email that you receive from us, or by calling our Customer Service Department at (800) 325-3252.
MBS’s Ability to Share your Personal Information
1. Generally. We do not rent, sell, or share Personal Information about you with other people or companies except in the situations described below.
2. Sharing Your Information with Subcontractors. From time to time we may share Personal Information with Subcontractors that provide us with services. These services may include, among other things, the creation or maintenance of our databases, or research and analysis concerning the people who request information from us.
3. Sharing Your Information with Publishers. In some instances, we may share your information with the publisher, copyright holder or author of the products you purchase from us. These parties may use your information to send you updates, corrections or other information related to those materials.
4. Sharing Your Information with Educational Institutions. We may share your Personal Information with any educational institutions to which you indicate that you belong and which we have a contractual obligation. The educational institution may use your Personal Information to verify that you have obtained books and other course materials required for a particular course. The educational institution may also use your Personal Information to verify that MBS is in compliance with any agreements between MBS and the educational institution.
5. Sharing Your Information with Law Enforcement. We fully cooperate with reasonable requests for information from law enforcement agencies. As a result, we reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we reasonably believe to be unlawful, or that we reasonably believe may aid a law enforcement investigation into unlawful activity. In addition, we reserve the right to release your information to law enforcement agencies if we determine, in our sole judgment, that either you have violated our policies, or the release of your information may protect the rights, property or safety of MBS, you, or one of our other customers.
6. Sharing Your Information as Permitted by Law. We may share your Personal Information with others as required by, or permitted by, law. This may include sharing your Personal Information with governmental entities, or third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, other legal process, or as we believe is necessary to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims against us.
7. Transfers. In the unlikely event that MBS or substantially all of MBS’s assets, are acquired, your Personal Information will be transferred to the acquiring company. In such a situation, you will be provided with notice that a transfer of your Personal Information has occurred.

MBS has instituted measures designed to ensure that your Personal Information is secure, and is not disclosed to individuals or entities that are not authorized to receive it.

Removal of Your Personal Information

We reserve the right to modify or amend this policy at any time by posting the revised privacy policy on our website. Security

We take security very seriously. All of your ordering information -- including your name, address, and credit card number -- is encrypted using a secure server for maximum security. We take every precaution to protect the privacy of your credit card information through the use of the 128 bit Secure Socket Layers (SSL). The 128 bit SSL is the most advanced security system available. We use this SSL technology to prevent such information from being intercepted and read as it is transmitted over the Internet.

In the unlikely event that your credit card number is fraudulently misused, most banks either cover all the charges that result from the unauthorized use or may limit your liability to just $50. Please note: You must notify your credit card provider of any unauthorized use. Please consult your credit card provider for specific information.

Safe Shopping Guarantee

Under federal law, a credit card issuer cannot make you liable for charges in excess of $50.00 that result from the unauthorized use of your credit card. Registration

In order to buy products from us, you need to have a registered account with us. Having an account will enable you to place orders quickly and easily while allowing you to track your orders online. Your email address and password are the keys to your account; to protect your security, they must be entered before any account specific information can be accessed like billing, shipping address or order history. We never save credit card information.

You can register to create your account either at Checkout or in advance. Here's how:

Payment

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit cards. We also accept Visa and Mastercard check cashing cards.

Shipping

We ship domestic orders via UPS or USPS and international orders via UPS from our distribution center in Columbia, MO. Cost of shipping is based on the weight of package and distance. For international orders, you will receive a second, separate charge for shipping charges on your credit card.

Your order will be picked and shipped by the end of the next business day (Mon-Fri excluding holidays) following receipt of your order.

Can I Track My Order Online?

That depends on the shipping option you choose. After we receive your order, we will send you an email confirming the date of shipment and, if available, the tracking number and instructions on how to track your order.

Cancelling an Order

If you receive an email order acknowledgment regarding your Internet order, your materials are on their way to you. If you no longer want these materials, you should return them to us by following the return instructions included with your order. Note: This same return/reorder procedure applies when you want to change/cancel your order regardless of how you placed the order.

eContent Delivery

eContent is delivered to the email address associated with your account.

For Security reasons, we cannot deliver the eContent to any other email address.

If you have mis-typed your email address, please go into your account and change the email address.

Please Note: Changing your email address will change your user name for the Megastore, Studytactics.com, and the MBS Direct Virtual Bookstore.

Used Books

Used books range in quality from a pristine book owned only once before by a student who treated it with care, to a book that has been owned by several students and is comfortably worn with creased pages and highlighting. A used book might have any of the following characteristics:

Notes written in the margins
Highlighting from a little to a lot
Typical wear and tear
Rounded corners
Scrapes and scratches
Faded cover art
Creased pages

Rest assured that MBS Direct has quality assurance standards in place. A used book purchased from us will NOT have:

Water damage
Missing, torn or loose pages
Missing, torn or loose cover
Excessive writing or marking
A broken spine
Torn or damaged binding

Books that come to us in such condition are rejected from our buyback program and either discarded or sent back to the last owner.

Returns

Policies
Materials must be returned within four weeks of date received. New books and software must be returned in new, unopened condition to receive a full refund. All components of a packaged item must come back together, unopened, and in the original shrink wrap to receive credit. Loose leaf items must be in the original shrink-wrap. CDs, diskettes, and software included with a book or sold alone must be intact, in the original packaging or it will be non-refundable. All components of an item must come back in the same shipment to receive credit. Books damaged in shipping may not be eligible for full refund. Electronic content like access key codes, eBooks, etc. are not refundable.
Shipping & Packing Guidelines For Returns
Circle the material being returned on the front of the invoice/packing slip and return this form with the merchandise. Keep a copy for yourself. Ship the material UPS Ground (keep your tracking number) or insured mail. Postage on returns is not refundable; only the item cost is refundable. Pack the materials in a strong, sturdy box suitable for shipping. Fill the empty spaces with a clean filler. If newspaper is used as the filler, be aware that printer's ink may degrade the condition of New textbooks to a Used condition. Tape the box securely using appropriate shipping tape. Securely attach the address label to the top of the box. Make sure there is only one label on the box you are using.
Terms Of Refund
Credit will be issued in the same manner the payment was originally made. Allow two weeks for processing time. Any course materials received outside of the returns time period will be checked in as a buyback. If there is no value on the item, you will receive notification in the form of a letter or email. You have three weeks from that notification to request the no value material back. A replacement copy will be shipped at your expense. You may not receive the same copy you returned.

Electronic content like access key codes, eBooks, etc. are not refundable.
